← The six-course studio

One course. One current project. Your pace.

A little work.
A world taking shape.

First Light · 24 weeks

12 chapters in your longer graphics journey. Plan roughly 4–6 hours a week, including reading and experiments. Repeat a week whenever you need.

Session times are starting points, not deadlines.

Find your place

Reconnect your earlier C/C++ knowledge with the modern graphics workflow.

A bounded session · 25–40 min

Observe & predict

Start with the Build Studio primer if CMake feels unfamiliar: distinguish configuring, compiling, linking, and running. Then open your earlier graphics work if you have it, name the image dimensions, and trace one pixel. Use First light to refresh the image contract.

THIS WEEK’S FINISH LINE

One original gradient, its source, and a reproducible command.

Before you close the lid

Leave a way back in.

Write the exact file, command, or smallest next change. A rough note is enough.

Keep the evidence & finish this week +

These are your own checks. The website does not grade code or certify interview readiness.

A place for the next exciting idea +

Keep the idea without starting a second project today. Return to it after your current finish line.

Preparation you can demonstrate

Build it. Break it.
Explain the decision.

Each chapter pairs a small original project with technical questions and concrete evidence. The final project should show your own implementation and choices, with clear credit for books, libraries, and supplied reference code.

The six courses grow from foundations into OpenGL, light transport, renderer engineering, Vulkan, and Metal. Finish the current project before taking on the next. Interview preparation develops throughout; a calendar cannot guarantee readiness or a job.
